Fly Tying Video-JC'S Electric Steelhead Stone

For this week's Fly Tying Video, John Collins ties up a great Steelhead pattern. This one is called J.C.'S Electric Steelhead Stonefly. Steelhead like crazy colored flies. This one fits the bill because it is Pink and Chartreuse (a color combo that has ALWAYS worked for us.) You are going to tie this on a super stout hook. A strong hook is maybe the most important piece of gear if you are going after Steelhead. Always tie on 2x or 3x heavy hooks because if you don't, you will get back a straightened hook. I just tied up some Electric Caddis with John the other day. It is super easy getting the wire in to the tubing when you spin the tubing and hold the wire still. Work on this in half inch increments with 6-8 inches of tubing and wire. Tie some up and go GET SOME CHROME!
